Uplifting Zambia: Drought Update 2025
Update June 2025: The harvests have been plentiful this year! We give God all the praise for what He has provided in Zambia and the surrounding countries involved in last year’s drought. They have reported 3.6 million metric tonnes of corn has been harvested! Praise the Lord! Some other reports have said due to the amazing harvests of small farmers all over Zambia, that the numbers could go even higher.

Update January 2025: The rains are falling. The people are quite happy and this video was sent giving praise to God for answered prayers for rain. Thank you Lord Jesus
Update on BSW Support for the drought: We were able to raise in a short period of time almost $6,000.00 USD to send over to Zambia. Here is the letter Bishop Siachitema sent to us:
“Good morning my sister in the Lord. I am very grateful to let you know that we have received the money for the food for relief. May the Good Lord bless you and your church for visiting us at our very point of our need. Indeed we are hungry and you have fed us. May the Lord whisper to you “A well done good and faithful servants” to you as a church and individuals. We will roll our sleeves and take the food everywhere it is needed the most.” ~ Bishop J. Siachitema of PWC Zambia.

UPDATE: Over the last week of June and first week of July 2024, the government has approved the PWC for purchasing and receiving food for distributing to those who are in need. They will begin distribution the first week of July 2024.

The rainy season in Zambia has been interrupted by movements of the Jet Stream: El Nino. Rains stopped in January of 2024 and they have only had one week of rain since April 7th. The drought is located in the southern province of Zambia which is the area we do our mission work. We have been helping churches, schools, and clinics from Lusaka down to Livingstone.
We are currently raising funds for Zambia that will be sent to the Pilgrim Wesleyan Church’s headquarters in Lusaka. We are working with the current Bishop, Judan Siachitema. Pastor Carri Johnson was able to spend time with he and his wife (Prisca) last July 2023 and has developed a good relationship with both of them.

Former Bishop Alfred Kalembo and his wife Rev. Muumbe are standing next to Prisca, the wife of the current Bishop, Judan Siachitema.
Dr. Alfred Kalembo, former Bishop of the Pilgrim Wesleyan Church, sent us information regarding the drought. See info below:
